Overview


The Director, Lender Development plays a critical leadership role within Canada, serving the asset‑based finance industry (auto, RV, marine, leisure, and similar asset classes). This position is responsible for driving lender engagement, expanding strategic partnerships, and delivering innovative digital financing solutions that enhance efficiency and profitability for Canadian lenders. 


The role is sales‑driven, consultative, and relationship‑focused—ideal for a proactive, strategic self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and excels at uncovering opportunities, building trust, and driving business value.


Responsibilities


Industry Advocacy

  • Monitor and share industry trends, innovations, and emerging asset types

  • Contribute insights to product roadmaps and service expansion

  • Represent Dealertrack at industry events and conferences

  • Identify new revenue and volume opportunities, including new lender onboarding and partnership expansion

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and strengthen relationships with C‑Suite executives and key stakeholders

  • Manage expectations by understanding lender strategies, requirements, and objectives

  • Prioritize and manage a pipeline of lender enhancement initiatives

  • Develop analytics, insights, and business intelligence presentations that demonstrate value

  • Collaborate across internal teams (Product, Sales, Technology, Operations, Finance)

  • Resolve service issues, conduct functional reviews, support training, and manage escalations

  • Deliver “Lender Service Excellence” to build long‑term trust and engagement

Business Planning & Strategic Growth

  • Develop strategic account plans aligned with lender priorities

  • Contribute to quarterly business planning and enhancement qualification

  • Participate in product roadmap discussions and quantify business value for new initiatives

  • Work with Product Management to establish project priorities and clarify requirements

  • Drive customer retention through proactive engagement and value‑added strategies

  • Create compelling, data‑driven presentations and business reviews

  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills in complex stakeholder environments

  • Generate new leads through relationships, market insights, and network expansion

  • Develop action plans to maximize lender product utilization and communicate progress

Compensation Structure (Important)

  • Base Salary: $120,000–$125,000 CAD

  • Job Type: Full‑time, Permanent

  • Work Model: Hybrid (2–3 days per week in office)

Qualifications


Education & Experience

  • Post‑secondary education with a commitment to continuous learning

  • 5–7 years of experience in account management, banking, finance, or the automotive industry

  • Proven ability to manage a diverse portfolio of customers

  • Strong product and technical skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

  • Deep knowledge of the automotive finance industry—experience with lenders is highly desirable

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong understanding of sales and account management methodologies

  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements

  • Experience delivering business reviews, proposals, and pitch decks

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage business intelligence
